Storyline

Events and characters are based on those that actually happened. The most haunted home on the planet is located on a lonely plot of land about fifty miles west of San Francisco. Sarah Winchester (Dame Helen Mirren), heir to the Winchester fortune, had a mansion like this one built for her. Seven floors tall with hundreds of rooms, it was built in a frenzy that lasted decades and lasted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. From the outside, it appears to be a hideous tribute to the craziness of a deranged lady. Sarah isn’t constructing the house for herself, niece Marion (Sarah Snook), or Dr. Eric Price (Jason Clarke), a great neurosurgeon she has invited over. She is erecting a fortress, a refuge for hundreds of angry spirits, and the scariest of them all hold a grudge against the Winchesters.
