Storyline

Benoit Blanc, a famous French detective, travels to Greece to solve the mystery of a tech millionaire and his strange group of pals. Billionaire and co-founder of the Manhattan tech firm Alpha Miles Bron plan to throw a murder mystery weekend at his house, the Glass Onion, on his own island in Greece during the COVID-19 epidemic in May of 2020. The top scientist at Alpha, Lionel Toussaint, the governor of Connecticut, Claire Debella, the head designer at Alpha, Birdie Jay, the streamer for men’s rights, Duke Cody, and fellow co-founder and former Alpha CEO, Cassandra “Andi” Brand, are the five guests he has invited. In addition to Birdie’s helper Peg and Duke’s lover Whiskey, Detective Benoit Blanc has been invited.

Once Blanc arrives, Miles is suspicious, but he lets him remain since he thinks someone else invited him as a prank. Blanc witnesses Duke watching Whiskey flirt with Miles while they both lounge on a bed, and she overhears Peg questioning Miles about a public statement he wants Birdie to issue. Before dinner, Miles discloses that the Glass Onion is powered by “Klear,” an alternative fuel based on hydrogen, that Alpha plans to deploy in a week despite Lionel and Claire’s safety worries.
